Overall I really enjoyed this project and happy with the progress I have made in using Dreamweaver. Before the project I had no idea how to make a website so I am happy with my final website although it is very plain and simple, but that’s not a bad thing as I was told in seminars that less is more in some cases. I am happy with my final website as I believe it is clear, easy to use and looks professional although I would of like the font I downloaded to have worked to add a bit more variety to the website. If I was to do this project again I would like to add more of my own graphics I’d of created instead of have a plain black background and possibly try a different layout other than the one columned template. If I had a more interesting background or background images included on some of my div tags I possibly would have had to resort to changing the colours of my text and background when I was initially happy with the black and white colour them I first had. I would also like to play around with different types of navigation bars although I did look at some other ones online I was already happy with my horizontal navigation bar at the top of the page I felt it matched well with my layout, however in the future if I was to maybe use a different layout I would try to use a vertical navigation bar. I also would of liked to have more of my own work to add to the online portfolio but I was told to only use the work I was most happy with so If I was to do this a project again I would like to think I would of extended my work and possibly embed some videos to the online portfolio. Not having much work to include to my online portfolio lead me to the idea of adding an enter page which I actually really liked as not many websites use them, and it adds a slight interactive concept to the website. Things I am happy with are that the website actually works, it all makes sense and is useable. The minimal theme it has throughout gives it a professional look which I am pleased with and I feel like it really projects my photography which doesn’t get over shadowed by anything else. After making my online website I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the project, I didn’t think I would like the interactive segment as much as I did and didn’t think I would catch on to the use of Dreamweaver but the seminars with Giselle we’re very helpful and I learnt a huge amount. I would happily do a website project again after the progress I have made during these past five as I feel I would be able to really develop my ideas and skills a lot further from what I have made this project.

At the start of this project I was a bit worried that I would play much of part in the making of it as I am used to doing the role of director or camera but I was open to my role as costume and set designer and in charge of casting as I was willing to try out something new. However, my predictions that I wouldn’t have much to do when it came to filming was true at the start but I was to do half of the filming on set which I really enjoyed and was happy to do as I felt very comfortable behind camera and wanted to get as much done in each shoot after a not so successful first day of filming.

I believe my group all worked to a very high standard and our organisation skills we’re useful to us all being on target for the project as a whole. Everyone pulled their wait and turned up to all meetings and done all jobs allocated to them. Marcus and James we’re great producer and I believe their high standard of organisation encouraged the rest of the group to do their jobs well.

During the shoot I gave my opinion when I believed it was needed and my help. Everyone worked well together and had a try at doing different things, however this was not entirely beneficial as other jobs we’re overlooked as they we’re not specifically allocated to certain people, for example sound and lighting. We did try our best on the days of shooting in terms of lighting but didn’t pay enough attention on sound which I believe was our main downfall. Another problem we had was actors not turning up, the casting of the film was one of my jobs which I did have sorted out in the very early stages of the project by getting two people from the acting society however they could not make it as the shooting date came. Luckily I managed to get Kalab to play Vinny with a day’s notice and Rebecca managed to get Nathan to play Andy, which they did surprisingly well. Overall I am happy with the work we produced as a whole.

I particularly enjoyed the editing process of the project as I wanted to explore with how to portray the story in a slightly different way to as we generally talked about the film as a group. The main issue I had during editing was sound as some shots were not clear and I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect music for it.

If I had to do this project again I would make sure that someone was more firmly in charge of sound and lighting to ensure the all concepts of the film were good. I would also take more time altering shots during the editing process, for example I could have made some shots lighter and clearer spending more time on them in after effects. Overall I am very happy with the final outcome of my film, ‘Drive’.

Visiting the car park helped us plan out how certain scenes would go, below is a diagram of where the car will have to drive and park and where our actors will be.
